Position Description:
The Electrical Engineer supports the development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex military equipment.
In this role, the Electrical Engineer:Researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components.Utilizes advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services, and their ability to deliver required products or services.Works under minimal supervision of a project engineering lead to perform electrical system design on various military systems, including combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.Provides detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.Skills Required:
High level analytical ability to solve complex technical design and development problems.Performs technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to solve complex engineering/scientific problems using specialized equipment and/or by creating computer programs, models, or simulations.Ability to create and manage interface control documents and design documentation in accordance with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements by analyzing and interpreting requirements/specifications results.Ability to perform circuit simulation (PSpice or LTspice).High levels of communication skills to prepare and present status reports and technical results to project leads, internal management, and external customers.Skills Preferred:
Hands-on troubleshooting of circuits using oscilloscopes and multimeters.Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, LabVIEW, Test Stand, RS485, J-Tag, CANBus.Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio.Experience Required:
Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.Experience developing technical documentation - such as drawings, reports, and technical analysis.Experience Preferred:
Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic.
Education Required:
Typically requires 4+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
