Dover Precision Components is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our FW Murphy Production Controls business located in Rosenberg, TX. We manufacture and deliver a wide range of instrumentation and control solutions for the Oil & Gas Production and Natural Gas Compression markets. Our products improve the protection, performance, and reliability of the Natural Gas Supply Chain while protecting our environment and creating systems and equipment to help producers stay in compliance and meet stringent emission regulations. WHAT YOU'LL DOIn this lean manufacturing role, you will work to optimize manufacturing operations, such as machining and material movement. You will follow 5S principles to create standard work instructions, process change management, audit, and plan capacity of one of the five value streams producing one or more of our products. The qualified candidate will have manufacturing process improvement experience and understand fundamental lean manufacturing principles. Responsibilities include: Plan and implement the production equipment for manufacturing lines to provide the maximum production efficiency and utilization of facilities and equipment. Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize work/process flow, to include change over time for testing equipment. Work with the Operations team to make operational adjustments as necessary, to ensure continued growth in productivity and efficiency, by reviewing KPIs, daily. Investigate and implement new technologies to digitalize and automate product manufacturing and machine connectivity within the plant. Document standard work, including creation of work instructions, recording, and analyzing cycle times, and value stream mapping. Positively influence personnel during process changes, and successfully manage that change.WHAT YOU'LL BRING Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. 2+ years' professional experience in manufacturing engineering and operations. Effective communication and reporting skills with the ability to proactively meet with management and inform of important developments. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools as needed to create spreadsheets, standard work instructions, and other documents. Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create/design manufacturing fixtures.ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES Industry experience in controls, manufacturing, and/or oil & gas. Practical knowledge of continuous improvement practices, formal problem solving (Ishikawa Diagram, A3, 5 Why, etc.,), and lean manufacturing principles.
