Follow @abbvie on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:+ Review the design of electrical power system infrastructure, equipment, and backup power and provide guidance to comply with the AbbVie Standards and Specifications, applicable international code compliance, and best practices. Generate and/or update standards for Electrical Systems for the Global Engineering Assurance Team.+ Stay current with the latest regulatory guidance and industry best practices for electrical power systems, including, but not limited to, skidded equipment, electrical infrastructure, backup power systems, and lighting systems.+ Provide technical direction on global capital projects through all phases of project execution from conceptual engineering to detailed engineering to installation and commissioning, including but not limited to detailed system description narratives, one-line diagrams, Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies.+ Provide technical direction to equipment suppliers on equipment selection based on project requirements.+ Leading factory acceptance tests and/or site acceptance tests for equipment.+ Develop and present continuing education topics internally.+ Troubleshoot power distribution systems and support commissioning activities.+ Evaluate and Present electric utility infrastructure options.+ Must be able to work within the a regulated pharmaceutical environment and have the the potential to support campus, commercial, manufacturing, and laboratory environments.Key Leadership Competencies:+ Builds strong relationships with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside of the team to enable higher performance.+ Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.+ Creates a learning environment that is open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.+ Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation, and manages innovation to reality.Can develop and implement a vision of how these systems should be designed and standardized across the company to best meet the needs of Abbvie.Qualifications+ Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a 5+ years of related power engineering.+ Has demonstrated competency in Power Distribution.+ Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.+ Experience in Power Infrastructure design and installation projects scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.+ Demonstrates experience working with diverse groups with technical and non-technical and can translate complex ideas to common language for non-technical entities+ Demonstrates strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.+ Experience with considering input from others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.+ Works well with other engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.+ Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.+ Has demonstrated competency with financial systems and in fiscal control.Additional InformationApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ??+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
