About the Program:

We are seeking motivated early-career professionals interested in a career in plant operations to join our Category Specialist Rotation Program. This comprehensive 1-2-year program is designed to expand your knowledge and skills through hands-on manufacturing and business experiences. The program aims to develop future leaders for our company by providing leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. As a Category Specialist, you will learn about our product categories, including bacon, ham, hot dogs, sliced lunch meats, pepperoni, salami, and other specialty meat items.

Program Structure:

The program consists of rotations across different departments within the plant, allowing participants to build leadership and functional skills through cross-departmental exposure. The rotations will focus on:

Raw material knowledge and process elements - understanding how we receive our raw materials and and the process to end category products.Quality - learn our food safety programs and our quality processesManufacturing costs and accounting principles - learn the costs of manufacturing and how production efficiencies can impact profits.Supervisory skills - develop skills in people management.Each rotation will provide a broader understanding of the business processes, people, and products of Fresh Mark, preparing you for your permanent role within the company.To accomplish this, participants work cross-functionally with and learn from Plant Managers, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Technical Services (maintenance), Warehouse Logistics, Plant Controllers, Plant Human Resources, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Actively participate in rotations, gaining exposure to manufacturing planning, maintenance, quality control, environmental safety, frontline supervision, and other managerial and administrative functions.Develop an understanding of key manufacturing metrics and their impact on the business, seeking opportunities to enhance performance.Lead special projects and develop solutions related to safety, process improvement, quality, capacity balancing, workflow planning, and logistics.Continue to improve safety systems, including ownership, communication, training, recognition, safety audits, and behavioral-based safety practices.Lead teams of manufacturing personnel as appropriate.Collaborate with supervisors and operating teams to ensure continuous improvement through manufacturing reliability tools.Assist in plant operations, troubleshooting, process improvement, and equipment upgrades to meet facility objectives.Coach, train, and engage employees in process improvement efforts and their impact on business results.Actively participate in leadership development opportunities.Present rotation accomplishments to senior leaders at the end of each rotation.Qualifications:

Manufacturing operations experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility; or recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.Work Authorization:Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.Strong commitment to a career in Plant Operations/Manufacturing.Ability and willingness to work at any facility, any shift, including shift rotations during the rotation program.Strong oral and written communication skills.Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities, with the capacity to influence others and lead small teams.Proven analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate several projects simultaneously.Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated mechanical aptitude.Ability to connect with all levels of the organization, showing openness, transparency, in a collaborative and respectful manner.Search Firms:Assistance not needed for this search.
