Description: Job Description:
The SDET will•Work within the Quality Engineering team to build, maintain, and support test automation framework functionality by providing appropriate technical solutions and tools for Front End teams to create test automation scripts that can be executed across Web and mobile platforms.•Review updates to framework code and provide feedback on improvements and suggest changes.•Create new sanity tests using WebdriverIO, Cucumber, Typescript, and Node.•Research new test requirements such as API virtualization, screen validation, automated accessibility testing, etc.•Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, being involved in weekly grooming and planning meetings and providing ideas on expected functionality, documentation, and implementation.•Provide thorough and detailed documentation and conduct demo sessions on implemented tools.•Work closely with feature development teams to understand test requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide workarounds or solutions to unblock or enhance the ability to test Web and Mobile functionality.•Work with Software Architecture and DevOps teams to enhance existing service virtualization and CI/CD implementation for end-to-end tests.
The qualified individual will have solid experience in•writing effective and efficient test scripts that follow test automation best practices and standards•implementing automation framework-level functionality such as test data structure design, reporting mechanism, and GitLab integration for CI/CD.•supporting teams to technical team members with troubleshooting test script issues, suggesting Typescript/Javascript coding standards, regression test run analysis, etc.•creating thorough documentation for tools implemented and test automation scripting methodologies and standards
Required skills•Excellent oral and written communication skills.•Coding in Typescript, Javascript.•Thorough understanding of hybrid and page-object-model automation frameworks.•Thorough understanding of test automation best practices (scripting, selector usage, test data structure, etc.).•Good understanding of Web development technologies (front-end, API, and data storage layers).•Experience with using 3rd-party execution platforms such as SauceLabs, BrowserStack, Perfecto, etc.•Excellent troubleshooting and debugging abilities
Preferred skills•Coding experience in any other object-oriented programming language such as C# and/or Java.•Experience with developing web-based portals such as dashboards, reporting portals, etc.
Required Experience•3-5 years of test automation script development using WebdriverIO, Cucumber, and Typescript•3-5 years working within a mature development and testing environment following an automation-first strategy for testing•1-2 years working in a CI/CD environment that includes a thorough regression test execution mechanism
