Tesla is looking to hire a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the analysis and development of potting and dispense processes for our cutting-edge battery products. In this role you will drive technological advancement in this discipline as part of a small, specialized team. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles - battery cost and performance. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.

Responsibilities

Investigate candidate potting and dispense process strategies for new high voltage battery products Down-select applied dispense methods and technologies Provide potting and dispense Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to product designers Validate and optimize processes from early prototype builds through full volume production Drive proof-of-concept to green light new and novel methods, technologies, and suppliers Evolve the potting and dispense knowledge base through standards and benchmarking Requirements

3+ years of engineering or equivalent relevant experience Experience developing and implementing one of more dispense processes and equipment in high-volume production (expansion potting, sealants, form-in-place gaskets, structural adhesives, other - both low and high viscosity as well as single and multiple components) Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or equivalent experience Compensation and Benefits Benefits
