Job Description Seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with building design experience for a firm that works with clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation. They define success by constructability and achieve it through highly coordinated BIM models and a carefully executed quality control plan.

This position requires in-office work at our Nampa, Idaho, or McKinney, Texas locations, with flexibility for remote work and periodic on-site visits to the Nampa office as needed.

As a

Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) , you will play a crucial role in designing and overseeing both HVAC and plumbing systems

for our diverse projects. Candidates with expertise in either HVAC, plumbing, or both are encouraged to apply. Your responsibilities will include: •

Detailed Building Design:

Perform and direct others in designing HVAC systems, ductwork, plumbing waste and vent systems, water supply, gas systems, riser diagrams, and related engineering calculations. •

Technical Guidance and Training:

Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff, ensuring adherence to design standards and quality control procedures. •

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that designs comply with federal, state, and local codes and maintain a high standard of quality control throughout the design process. •

Mentorship and Development:

Mentor junior staff and contribute to their growth within the discipline and the firm. •

Client Relationships:

Grow and foster relationships with clients, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in engineering design. •

Support for DFW Office:

For candidates in the DFW, Texas area, additional responsibilities include collaborating with sales staff to create proposals, meeting with clients to assess their design needs, and managing the local design team in collaboration with the Nampa, Idaho headquarters.

Requirements •

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an ABET-accredited university. •

Certification:

Professional Engineering (PE) license. Candidates with an EIT certification may be considered if they can obtain their PE license within the first six months of employment. •

Experience:

o 4+ years of building design experience, specializing in HVAC or Plumbing.

o Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.

o Experience filling the role of project engineer on multiple concurrent projects. •

Code Knowledge:

Strong understanding of industry codes, including the

Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), International Building Code (IBC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), and ASHRAE Standards.

Preferred Qualifications: •

Fire Alarm Design:

Working knowledge of fire alarm design and installation. •

Modular Construction:

Experience with modular construction. •

Team Management:

Experience managing two or more project team members. •

Construction Administration:

Experience reviewing submittals and responding to construction administration requests for information. •

Energy Efficiency:

Understanding of California Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

Comprehensive knowledge and multi-discipline experience in planning, designing, and constructing large-scale projects. •

Leadership and Communication:

Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels. •

Ability to be a flexible team player and adapt to changing project requirements.
