Ethos Veterinary Health is hiring a full- time Human Resource Manager to oversee 3 hospitals within Florida!
Compensation
is based on experience - $70,000 - $80,000.
Job Description:Focused on innovation and world-class medicine, Ethos Veterinary Health is a unique community of locally operated specialty and emergency veterinary hospitals united by our dedication to compassionately serving pets and people in their times of greatest need. Field HR Managers plays a key role in shaping our company's culture and ensuring that we attract, develop, and retain top talent in our veterinary hospitals. Primarily reporting to the Field HR Business Partner, with a dotted line to the Hospital Directors, this role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, employee engagement and HR compliance. This role will support three (3) hospitals in Melbourne, FL, Palm Beach, FL, Estero, FL. This role is remote with the expectation of travel ~30% of the time, sometimes overnight.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the front-line HR resource for employees and managers, answering HR related questions, addressing workplace concerns, providing guidance on HR-related matters and promoting a positive and inclusive culture at assigned hospitals.Manages, investigates, and resolves complex employee relations issues. Provides detailed reports summarizing the findings and determinations of investigations and collaborates with HRBPs and legal counsel on recommendations as appropriate/required.Coaches leaders through performance concerns and assists them with the necessary documentation to properly address misconduct, policy violations, and poor performance.Supports our performance review processes, ensuring reviews are conducted on time and promote fair and equitable treatment. Provides input around merit, promotions, job reclassifications and salary changes.Oversees the employee lifecycle (from onboarding to offboarding) for all employees in assigned hospitals. Ensures a seamless, welcoming and positive onboarding experience for all newly hired employees. Schedules and facilitates local orientation programs and makes recommendations to improve the new hire experience. Completes exit interviews and shares insights with the HRBP and hospital leadership team.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Administers leave of absences and accommodations, including sending out appropriate paperwork, tracking hours, keeping managers informed of leave requests and leave dates, and ensuring compliance with local and federal laws.Participates in the interactive process with employees to determine Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and reasonable accommodations.Completes background checks, orders equipment and assists new hires with onboarding paperwork including I-9 verification.Leverages data and analytics to generate meaningful HR insights and strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.Supports leaders in the recruiting process by helping to screen potential candidates, schedule interviews, and prepare offer letters as needed.Other duties as assigned.Skills/Requirements:
Candidates in the central/south Florida region preferred.Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in management and 2 years of employee relations investigation experience.Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience working with HRIS systems; Ceridian experience a plus.Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once of varying scope and size in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Excellent communication skills; strong ability to be neutral and impartial when mediating conflict and solving complex issues.Exemplary problem-solving skills: able to efficiently identify, determine cause, and propose/implement solutions.Demonstrates trustworthiness and professionalism.Comfortable with navigating ambiguous situations.
