Job Description:As a Business Analyst, you will be supporting the Business Analytics and Testing Support Team for IT projects. You will work within Agile (Sprint) and traditional Waterfall methodologies throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Your responsibilities will include analyzing problems, documenting business processes, developing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, as well as managing requirements traceability and testing. Given the fast-paced nature of the organization, you will need to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities while proactively contributing to ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project team members and business stakeholders to understand business processes and identify pain points.Develop expertise in customers' business applications.Conduct root cause analysis to identify system gaps and deficiencies requiring business, technical, or blended solutions.Diagram current processes and proposed modifications using process flows, context diagrams, and data flow diagrams.Discover and document requirements and user stories aimed at enhancing business and technical processes.Decompose requirements into Epics and Features, creating clear and concise user stories for technical staff.Utilize progressive elaboration to map stories to technical design specifications for system modifications.Identify and group related user stories into themes, documenting dependencies and associated business processes.Assist the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog.Create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups.Propose alternative solutions that balance cost and benefit, testing a solution's feasibility for business and technical compatibility.Collaborate with staff, vendors, consultants, and contractors on tasks to detail and test potential and implemented solutions.Perform Quality Analyst functions, defining test objectives, test plans, and test cases, and executing test cases, including regression testing.Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing with the business and keep Project Managers/Scrum Masters informed of progress.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering business and systems analysis artifacts.5+ years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodology.Experience organizing and maintaining product and sprint backlogs.Proficiency in translating client and product strategy requirements into application requirements and user stories.Expertise in defining acceptance criteria and managing the acceptance process with development teams.Experience with large, multi-module systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server).Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of peers and customers.CBAP and/or CSPO Certification.Experience using Team Foundation Server for Agile software development and work item tracking.Experience with automated testing tools such as Test Complete.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $45.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
