Overview:
The Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible for employee relations and strategic HR planning in our Poynette facility. Partners with plant leaders to execute HR strategy through operations.Responsibilities:Facilitate the strategic labor plan including making headcount recommendations that supports business objectives.Foster the collaborative employee centric culture by keeping a pulse on employee morale, engagement, and by making recommendations to maintain/increase this based on discussion and/or survey results.Responsible for developing and ensuring a strong, collaborative and transparent relationship with the union representatives. Responsible to lead and manage all union employment matters within the facility and lead the management team to research, bargain, and settle day-to-day grievances. Subject matter expert on the labor contract.Assist in professional development/succession planning of Poynette Plant leaders.As a role model, promote and champion company values and culture.Interpret and communicate human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, regulations, plant rules and labor contract.Manage the attendance policy per the plant rules and FMLA guidelines.Assist Safety with executing the workers compensation process including the completion of incident reports and employee inquires.Investigate and address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, and employee concerns.Responsible for labor relation issues facilitating a strong labor-management partnership with strong communication, ensuring adherence to the collective bargaining agreement and managing grievances, due process investigations and disciplinary actions. Partner with plant leadership to advise and recommend resolutions.Counsel supervisors/managers involving production staff personnel issues.Manage the employee exiting process, including exit interview and unemployment compensation inquiries.Assist with all aspects of employee onboarding, benefit administration, and leave of absence program.Assist with planning and execution of company- sponsored employee events such as retirements, monthly celebrations, and annual holiday gatherings.Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions in HRIS.Work with department on projects wherever needed.Perform administrative tasks within Human Resources DepartmentQualifications:
Bachelors degree in business or human resources or related field.Ten years Human Resources experience with progressive HR responsibilities including working in a union environment.Experience in a manufacturing and environment preferredDemonstrated ability to use knowledge of the business and personal judgment to match applicants to positions.Superior collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.Basic knowledge of personnel policies and procedures, employee benefits programs, and related legal compliance areas, including an understanding of labor issues and laws.Exceptional listening skills, positive, caring, and fair attitude toward others.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.The ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions without losing focus or productivity; ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.Strong initiative and follow through.Creative and innovative; adept at solving problems.Works well under pressure and maintains composure during difficult employee situations.
