As a project/process engineer, you are responsible for maintaining Micron standard of excellence and delivering projects with the utmost attention to safety and quality.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESCandidate must have strong knowledge base of CNC Machining and all secondary operations needed to manufacture orthopedic implant products.To Include but not limited to:
CNC Machining using 3, 4 and 5 axis machinesGrit blastingPolishingLaser markingCleaning (ultrasonic and passivation) ISOMetrologyCMM programming and In process development
Develop a URS for supplier on CNC machines and secondary machining equipment that will be placed at Micron.Determine manufacturing feasibility and provide solution feedback to address any issues. Prepare reports that can be shared with the customerWork closely with CNC Programmer to support quoting team on inputs for new machining manufacturing proposals when neededCreate Fixtures for bead blasting and lasering of any products in CNC Machining DepartmentCreate all In Process Control Plans for all products in CNC Machining DepartmentSupport process flow and PFMEA development and other project process disciplines for specified projects and put corrective measures in place.Review the customer prints to make sure we can meet the tolerance they request. Provide recommended manufacturing feasible dimensionsSupport production as needed to ensure delivery of finished goods on time.Assist operations with cost saving leadership and lean manufacturing techniquesHas ability to trouble shoot and correct machining and secondary machining defects. Uses root cause analysis and scientific approach on all problem solvingConduct FAT and SAT tests to confirm all secondary equipment meets our specified requirementsWork to debug and launch all secondary automation and manufacturing processes to launch on time, defined quality, and on budgetSet up work cells and optimize operator efficiency.Write and create work instructions with detailed and precise information.Fluent in mini tab for SPC, GR&R, and DOE analysisAssist operations CNC Machinists and CNC Programmer(s) to assist in production manufacturing issue resolution.Provide technical leadership to the CNC Shifts Lead and CNC Machinists supporting them with any necessary training needed to improve problem solvingOther duties as assignedJOB QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in engineering or related fields of study.5 years of prior experience in machining and processing orthopedic implantsKnowledge in robotics and controls with PLC experience in programming and debugExperience in CAD and Solidworks a mustCMM experience Programming and reading reportsExperience with manufacturing out of large variety of materials and plastics to include cobalt chrome, steel, aluminum, titanium, Peek billet and castingsExperience with all Passivation of Orthopedic Implants ISO standards ASTM A967Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
