This role will also recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.DETAILS OF THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITYSupports research, design, and the development of safe manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.Consult with stakeholders to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of the facility's property, buildings, and equipment.Supports and may lead the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.Designs, develops, tests, and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, equipment, and refrigerated insulation processes for safely manufacturing truck bodies and components.Prepares capital projects for new equipment and processes.Safely launches machines, processes, methods, and/or tooling technologies with >99% effectiveness.Documents lessons learned and communicated among the Manufacturing Engineering discipline.Provides technical process expertise for plant and supplier quality issues.Performs other related duties as assigned.MUST HAVE:Experience managing manufacturing startup projects, including scope development, business case analysis, execution, and closeout.Proven track record of successfully completing manufacturing projects on schedule and within budget.Ability to think strategically and plan projects over a 6-12-month horizon.Experience with existing manufacturing technologies, including, but not limited to, welding, joining, metalworking, and manual assembly; certification in a field is a plus.5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, 4+ years of work experience in a comparable industry.A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is desired.Experience with factory automation, maintenance, and integrating engineering designs into production - highly desirable.Practical Lean principles experience with proven success using the tools.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, Minitab.Proven ability to facilitate change and knowledge of lean tools and techniques.Strong leadership experience and strong team player.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.Quality orientation and attention to detail.Problem analysis and problem resolution; Green Belt certification, Black Belt a plus.
