The Senior Administrative Assistant will support the Head of Global Property/CUO, Head of Specialty Casualty and Lead Actuary/Head of Accounting Operations within our Global Reinsurance team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in performing a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and able to work independently with limited supervision. This individual must be highly organized and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting executive leaders within a complex financial services organization.

The ability to interact with individuals (at all levels) in a fast- paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient and with a high level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality are crucial to success in this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important. The Sr. Administrative Assistant will also bring a high degree of proactivity to their role, anticipating and addressing potential problems and opportunities; with an innate ability to build rapport with others and to build effective working relationships at all levels across the organization through a high level of performance, kindness and respect.

This role will allow for a hybrid work schedule of working 4 days from our Stamford office and 1 day from home, with flexibility depending on business priorities.

Responsibilities:

Candidate must be adept at communicating effectively with internal and external constituentsEffectively manage calendars of appointments, travel and meetings using appropriate prioritization and decision-making skills to resolve potential schedule conflictsEfficient and cost-conscious travel and meeting planning and manage expenses and expense reports in accordance with company policyProvide exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to form networks of individual relationships spanning multiple business units across HIG, Global Reinsurance and OCUO organizations.Mature and sophisticated approach to information security, data privacy and confidentiality with the utmost judgment and tact, recognizing any time constraints and implications. Must understand or be able to develop an understanding of the complex matrix of different levels of required confidentiality and how they differ from person to person and role to rolePrepare and edit presentation materials. As needed, produce ad hoc reports and manage special projects (outline project needs, work with various groups to acquire necessary data, provide analysis and recommendations). Adapt procedures, processes and techniques to the completion of assignments and in line with the department's activities, routines and goalsInitiate timely and professional responses to emails, voicemails, and written correspondence.A team player with Global Reinsurance, OCUO, finance, and actuarial teams and engaged in broader admin projects as needed.Offsite and virtual event planning for internal and external stakeholders: Negotiate and communicate with vendors, send and track invitations and RSVPs, agenda planning, meeting presentations, welcome gifts, transportation to and from events (dinners, excursions). Work with leader(s) to establish event planning budget and ensure that events stay within budget and spend expectations.Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of administrative experience supporting at the Executive level.Bachelors or Associates degree is preferred, but not necessary.Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizational skillsStrong computing abilities and power user of critical technology applications: Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power Point and Word), One Note, Workday, Travel and Expense applicationsA high level of initiative and be a self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environmentImpetus for team efficiencies and continuous improvement in routines, tools, and processes.Must be detail and quality oriented and able to work on multiple assignments simultaneouslyEfficiency and ability to prioritize and project manage are essentialExercise independent judgment, escalating only serious or unique problems to higher levels

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$61,760 - $92,640
