Job SummaryThis is an entry level role where the incumbent will learn how to conduct laboratory work and provide experimental data to support the technical teams on reactive and proactive projects under the direction of more senior technical staff.

Job DescriptionWe are currently searching for our next Flavorist Assistant to join our Creative & Design team in Philadelphia, PA. In this role you will work under the guidance of creative Flavorists to support the development of new flavors for customers as well as the introduction of new ingredients to the C&D community.Additionally you will:Understand and support formulation process including; accurate compounding of flavors using a balance, proper raw material handling and measuring physical properties of finished productsMaintain an organized laboratory, manage and transfer raw materials and flavor stockPrepare raw materials for evaluationObserve laboratory and plant safety rules and GMP's, Interface with cross-category departments including design, sales, QC and sensory as needed for completion of job tasksSupport customer visits as needed, apply flavors into bases and participate in tasting and product evaluations as requiredUnderstand key steps in the project lifecycle from creation to application through production scale-upBuild basic understanding of C&D and R&D library/tools within the IFF tool boxJob RequirementsRequired Skills:Strong computer skills, including: SAP, Microsoft Office, and other IFF systemsStrong practical math skills (e.g. calculating and preparing dilutions of flavoring materials)Excellent communication skills and ability to interact productively on internal/external basisAbility to taste and discriminate sensory properties of various flavors & application typesAbility and willingness to collaborate with a cross-functional team and be detail orientedFluent in English Well organized self-starter with desire to develop new skillsJob Requirements:Four Year Degree (BS/BA in biological or chemical science preferred) with 1-2 years of lab experienceAlternately, a minimum of 5 years industrial laboratory or chemical industry work experience, coupled with a strong desire and ability to continue education and professional development and growthWe are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
