Job Summary

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Denver Health is seeking a full time BC/BE Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery with preferred experience in general reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, transgender/gender affirming care, and breast reconstruction.

DHHA has been certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Trauma Center, a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and is an affiliate hospital of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences. DHHA offers comprehensive medical, surgical, and psychiatric care as well as emergency, ambulatory and diagnostic services. As Colorado's primary safety net institution, DHHA provides over 300 million dollars in uncompensated care every year. DHHA is nationally renowned for its teaching, research, and trauma services.

The successful candidate will have completed a terminal medical degree (e.g. MD or DO), be BC/BE in Plastic Surgery, and a demonstrated ability in the practice of community based plastic and reconstructive surgery. Candidate will have an academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at an academic rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions :

Perform invasive surgeries to correct physical deformities in patients (20%)Synthesize skin grafts or obtain them from recipient/donor (20%)Carry out pediatric plastic surgery to treat congenital defects such as cleft palate and polydactyly in children (20%)Perform microsurgery to transfer tissues to reconstruction sites (head/hand) where they are missing (20%)Administer non-surgical treatment to enhance outward beauty (10%)Examine and diagnose patients to identify an abnormality and determine suitable course of treatment (10%)Education :

Doctorate Degree Medical degree from an accredited institution. RequiredWork Experience :
