- Position Summary:
Coordinates and directs all kitchen functions and dining room operation in the facility to include food preparation, food delivery, quality assurance and overall supervision of staff. Maintains compliance with all local, state and OSHA regulations affecting food service practices.

- Responsibilities:
Responsible for all operational aspects of the dining/food serviceResponsible for the procurement of supplies maintaining food service area within budgetary allotment.Responsible for food service purchasing and record keeping.Assists sales and marketing.Oversees compliance with local, state and OSHA requirements as it relates to the food service area.Responsible for implementation and management of company policy and standards.Assures that all food service employers are instructed in the proper use of kitchen equipment.Trains dining room staff in correct table set up and the delivery of meals to include special diet plates.Responsible for an ongoing quality assurance program / plan for the food service area. Responsible for interviewing food service applicants and making recommendations for selection.Supervises kitchen and dining room staff to include: performance evaluations, addressing disciplinary issues, orientation of new staff with ongoing education / in-servicing of staff. Formulates system for servicing residents in dining room area.Directly responsible for the menu planning and preparation, as well as of special diets.Works collaboratively with other departments in the planning and implementation of special functions.Prepares the initial and follow-up assessments specific to dietary religious preference.Participates in the Manager on Duty program.Prepares the initial and follow-up assessments specific to dietary religious preference.Prepares and coordinates daily staff schedule. Responsible for organization / physical layout of food area.Attends departmental supervisor meetings. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining an emergency 72-hour supply of food and water.Director of Dining Services
- Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university with two to three years related experience and/or training; or twelve years of experience and/or training in Food Service Management, Culinary Arts or Hospitality as the educational equivalent preferred.Three years of experience and/or training equaling one year of college education.SERV-SAFE Certified or equivalent.Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.
