Job Summary
Provide technical and administrative functions to the Oracle Databases and operating systems. Administrate all upgrades and patches to the District's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems module and maintain version upgrades. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.Essential Functions
Create and deploy Oracle Databases and install and upgrade Oracle Database Software. Work on disaster recovery and performance tuning. Act as a technical reference for Oracle Database systems and assist users.
Evaluate, specify, manage, install, and upgrade Linux Operating System Hardware/Software. Monitor and take appropriate action to maintain integrity of databases including security issues and standards along with referential integrity checking and multiple access schemes.
Install and upgrade the District's ERP Administrative Software and integrate third party packages. Monitor the database and optimize database performance and use of resources including selecting optimal physical implementation of databases.
Monitor and manage database backups when warranted, database restorations, porting of databases, and system performance evaluations. Perform database capacity planning and processing requirements.
Consult with and coordinate work activities with other sections. Work with application developers to insure integration at the database level.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.
2. Knowledge of Oracle I9c or latest on various Linux and Windows platforms.
3. Knowledge of Oracle Application Server and Apache Tomcat.
4. Knowledge of performance tools on Oracle.
