Job Description
This position will serve as a member of the HR leadership team providing strategic guidance, and corporate oversight in the areas of Global Compensation and Performance Management. The role will be responsible for strategy development, plan design, and communication of all compensation programs including base pay, incentive plans, rewards programs, and equity programs, with particular focus on executive compensation. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, this role will develop and manage company-wide programs that are competitive in the market, affordable, and clearly communicated and understood by the organization to help maintain a strong value proposition between Alkermes and its employees. Together with your direct report, you will be responsible for the design, management, and administration of compensation programs and Alkermes' performance management cycle. Based in Massachusetts, you will also work closely with our other sites located in Ohio and Ireland to align philosophy, structure, systems and processes.
Responsibilities
Executive CompensationWork with leadership team and external consultants to develop strategy for executive compensation, and in particular, long term incentive programs.Compensation Committee: Work with internal partners and external consultants to prepare management's recommendations, organize agenda and prepare meeting packages, present materials and facilitate discussions.Equity Programs
Manage equity compensation program, including education/communication.Drive the company's equity strategy working with external compensation consultant and Alkermes leadership.Understand legal and compliance requirements associated with company equity plans.Coordinate with Finance/Legal on plan administration, disclosures and financial reporting requirements.Broad Based Compensation
Oversee base salary, market pricing, salary increase processes and the annual bonus program including design and communication/education.Oversee job evaluation process, including development of job families, job descriptions and career ladders.Oversee compliance with related employment laws related to compensation and pay equity.Provide guidance to Managers and HR colleagues regarding candidate offers, promotions and adjustments.Partner with HR Systems team on the use of the Oracle system and design of the system to meet program design needs.Consult with the commercial organization on the development and management of incentive compensation for sales and other commercial functions.Performance Management
Oversee our Performance Management program including employee goal setting, feedback, and performance review processes.Oversee and partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners on the development of competency models.Provide reporting and metrics to management regarding goal setting and performance feedback, and performance rating distributions.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Human Resources leadership experience. Deep executive compensation program management experience and Equity experience is required.Demonstrated track record of successful team leadership, including the ability to coach and develop team members.Must be self-directed and possess a clear, concise communication style. Strong work ethic and organizational and time management skills required.Ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization and with members of the Board of Directors. The ability to listen, develop a consensus and make appropriate decisions is needed.Knowledge of Oracle or related enterprise-wide systems application experience.Excellent analytic, communication and relationship-building skills.Some travel required to sites in Ohio and Ireland.
Alkermes has recently adopted a hybrid working environment to support and meet the needs of employees and this role will operate in a flexible environment with 60% of time in the office and 40% from home. This position is eligible for the hybrid workplace model, requiring work to be completed onsite at our Waltham, MA office at least 3 days per week. This role is not eligible for fully remote work.
