This is a Hybrid position with multiple office options in Manhattan so you must be commutable to Manhattan. As the leader of the organization, you will have the opportunity to work out what a hybrid schedule will look like for you and your team.

Our client has hired their first CIO and there is a large appetite for transformation around their internal Infrastructure / Service Desk offerings. As the newly hired Director of Infrastructure & Operations, you will be a leader on the Technology team responsible for the strategic planning, management, and oversight of IT infrastructure and operational processes.

You will inherit a small team along with an MSP supporting multiple offices and hundreds of employees. You will come in with the opportunity to fully evaluate the business, systems, tools, people, and processes and in partnership with the CIO, make strategic recommendations that will drive innovation and continuous improvement in IT Service Delivery across the company. This will require someone with a background in strategy but also as a hands-on practitioner with in-depth hands-on technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & LeadershipPartner with business stakeholders and department heads to understand their technology needs and ensure the IT systems support these needs effectively.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionalsUse project management methodologies and sound development practices to ensure excellence in delivery of solutions on numerous projects/priorities.Infrastructure ManagementOversee the design, implementation, and management of the organization's IT Infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, cloud environments, and DevOps practices.Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT infrastructure to support business operations.Manage the utilization of cloud services and virtualization technologies, and DevOps methodologies to streamline development, deployment, and operations processes.Application Support & MaintenanceWork directly with colleagues in Business Technology and Enterprise Engineering to oversee the support and maintenance of business-critical applications, ensuring their optimal performance and availabilityCollaborate with Business Technology and Enterprise Engineering and vendors to manage application updates, patches, and upgrades.Ensure that application support processes align with IT service management (ITSM) practices and meet user expectations.Operations / Service / Help Desk ManagementEnsure the smooth operation of IT services, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Implement and manage IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and processes to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.Oversee the IT service desk including incident, problem, and change management processes to minimize service disruptions.Budget & Resource ManagementDevelop and manage the budget for IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Optimize IT spending by negotiating contracts and managing 3rd party vendor relationships to include system implementation partners and managed services engagements.Security Operations ManagementDevelop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to protect the organization's IT assets and data.Oversee day-to-day security operations, including threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and security audits.Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure proactive defense mechanisms and quick resolution of security incidents.Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the organizations.Innovation & Continuous ImprovementStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and security threats to recommend and implement improvements in IT infrastructure, operations, and security.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of IT services.Requirements:

10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, security, and DevOps, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Ideally experience in a similar 50-100M company. Multiple Offices Hundreds of Employees.Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, security operations, and best practices.Knowledge of project management methodologies and systems.Strong experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, particularly ITIL.Experience in Microsoft Environments preferred.Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.Experience with budgeting and financial management in IT.Familiarity with security standards, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks.Knowledge and understanding of complex processes with interdependencies across functional departments and the ability to lead complex technical solutions addressing business needs.
