As an integral member of the Residential Education leadership team, the
Associate Director
will play a significant role in implementing our strategic plan to re-imagine student engagement, building a "Best in the West" brand and bringing USC to be a preeminent force in the Residential Education arena. Almost every first-year student lives on campus at USC, therefore, the Associate Director will be taking a leading role in impacting USC culture through creation of a Residential Education program that encourages student and community engagement and the development of a supportive living and learning environment.

Position highlights:
Provide oversight for all operations within the Residential Colleges & Communities.Supervise, develop, and evaluate 4 Assistant Directors (ADs); indirectly supervise, train, and evaluate professional coordinators, and graduate and undergraduate student workers.Manage, track, and coordinate the reconciliation of the approximately $1,000,000+ budget.Provide vision and oversight for Residential Education committees and provide resources and support for the Residential Education programs, services, and support systems.Provide support and guidance to our Residential Experience initiatives as well as our Student Leadership programs.Serve as an emergency response & crisis resource for the entire USC population of 50,000+ students.Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Education:
Master's Degree in college Student Personnel, Higher Education/USC Student Life or Human Services field required.Work Experience:
An ideal candidate will have at least six years of post-Master work experience within residence life that shows progressive responsibility, and someone who has demonstrated leadership ability and works effectively with staff and students.Supervision Experience:

Manage, track, and coordinate the reconciliation of the Assistant Director's budgets, totaling approximately $1mMaintain accurate records and receipts for the Workday financial reconciliation processesTrack and approve all financial reconciliation and expenses by the ADs in your areaParticipate in fiscal budget planning with the Director of Residential EducationDepartmental Duties
Attend, participate, and lead your area/vertical meetings, and attend senior leadership meetingsAttend, participate, and lead the Residential Education Leadership Team meetingsAttend regularly scheduled one on one supervisory meetings with the Director of Residential EducationAssist in the departmental training, recruitment and selection of professional staff and student leadersProvide vision and oversight for Residential Education committeesServe on Student Life committees or task forces (as assigned)Develop a working relationship with Faculty in Residence through regular meetings and on-going communicationDevelop working relationships with key campus partners, including but not limited to: Office of the Vice President of Student Life, USC Housing, Campus Support & Intervention (CSI), Office of Community Expectations (OCE), Threat Assessment, Equity, Equal Opportunity, & Title IX (EEOTIX), Counseling and Mental Health (CMH), Department of Public Safety (DPS), Office for Health Promotion Strategy (OHPS), Student Equity and Inclusion Programs (SEIP), and other campus offices.Attend events and programs sponsored by the department and/or the USC Student Life, including those that periodically occur on weekends and evenings#LI-MN1
