York Space Systems is seeking a Director for Spacecraft Mission Operations. Mission operators will work with a small, dynamic team to support day-to-day operations. During periods of key deliverables or anomaly resolution, Mission Operations staff will be required to work day, swing, and night shifts. Mission Operations staff will also create documentation and artifacts necessary to train and execute satellite operations. The Director will be managing the Mission Operations staff as well as set and enforce policies and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire, lead and develop a team of diverse technical mission operations personnelInterface with program management, customer and other functional leadership in a collaborative mannerDirect on-console tasks for real-time operations and anomaly investigations for multiple missionsLead the development of procedures for mission operations and spacecraft mission planningLead and the development and execution of operator and customer trainingMonitor health and safety of space and ground segmentsSupport mission integration into the operations centerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent leadership skills in a fast paced environmentExcellent organization and communication skillsAbility to deliver technical briefings to high level customer personnelHave a positive "can-do" attitudeWork well in both a team environment and executing individual tasksBS degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant technical fieldPrevious satellite operations center experienceGeneral knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbit dynamics, and ground systemsExperience with the following:Functional management, hiring, people development, mentoringSpace situational awarenessProgram management concepts (product delivery, schedules, proposals, task management)Training material development and delivery
