Desired Expertise:
Production Electrician should possess the ability to safely and promptly perform tasks involved with the day to day maintenance and support of electrical systems on offshore production platforms to minimize or resolve downtime. In addition, this level requires Preventive Maintenance skills. Knowledge of power generation, motor controls, safety devices and instrumentation is desired. SCADA and PLC knowledge is helpful. This level requires the ability to be a team player and to work with Production Personnel on a very close level.
Requirements
Read and understand P&ID's (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.Work on electrical systems ranging from 12vcd to 480 vac; electrical meters and diagnostics tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.Perform minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.Follow all company safety procedures including lockout/tag out procedures.Perform other duties as required.Required Skills
Basic Wiring Principles.Alternating and Direct Currents.Electrical Area Classification.Low Voltage AC Distribution Systems , Solar/Wind & Battery Systems.Power Transmission-Transformers and branch circuits.Power Generation- To include Principles of Generation and Generator Controls and Generator Protection Safety SystemsPage/Party and Alarm Notification Systems.Motor Control Centers and Motor Starters.Gas Compressor Operation and Safety Devices.Read and understand P&ID's (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID's process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards.Proven organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.Strong interpersonal skills.Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.Ability to work at heights.Comfortable with traveling 80% of time.Must be able to work under pressure.Must be able to work individually and on a team.Required Experience & Education
8 years or more of electrical experience OR 4+ Years of Electrical maintenance experience on Onshore Hydrocarbons Processing or other industry plants in conjunction with a recommended 2 Year Offshore Production electrical maintenance experience will also be acceptable.Highschool Degree or G.E.D requiredPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.Ability to perform repetitive movements.Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twistAbility to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.Offered Benefits
