Overview:
The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department have a Minor League Physical Therapist position in Tempe, AZ for the 2025 season. The Minor League Physical Therapist will work alongside the Rehab Coordinator with all daily responsibilities such as hands-on treatments, training room maintenance, rehab progressions and any other duties as assigned by Director of Minor League Medical and Major League Head Athletic Trainer. This is a 12-month position required to be present at the minor league complex in Tempe, Arizona.
This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K eligibility after 1 year of employment (employer matching and safe harbor) and additional perks not listed above. The expected salary for this position can range from $100,000 - $110,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. The position will be located in Tempe, AZ although travel to affiliates may be required on an as needed basis. The expected start date is November 1, 2024 (Start date is flexible)
Duties/Responsibilities:Collaboration with Player Development DepartmentsExecute a rehab system that efficiently and effectively returns injured MLB 40-man roster players and MiLB players to competition in a high-performing, resilient condition.Collaboration with MLB Medical StaffDevelop the rehabilitation methodology to be utilized across the organization.Interdisciplinary CollaborationWork with Athletic Trainers, Physicians, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Dieticians, Front Office, and Player Development staff to optimize player care and injury prevention.Development of Rehab ProgressionsCreate position-specific rehab progressions ensuring objective and appropriate exposure to volumes and intensities of baseball activities.Daily Medical Meetings ParticipationEngage in daily medical meetings, player rehab progressions, treatments, game coverage, and end-of-day reporting.Objective Assessments and ScreeningsConduct frequent objective assessments and screenings of healthy and injured players, utilizing this information to inform player progressions and maintenance programs.Daily DocumentationMaintain accurate daily documentation in the MLB electronic medical records system.Administrative DutiesComplete administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Minor League Medical.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Current PT Licensure (licensed in AZ or eligible for AZ licensure)Current CPR/AED and First Aid cards required.Successful completion of an Accredited DPT ProgramStrong leadership and collaboration skills.Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Willing to work long and flexible hours.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills.Bilingual in Spanish preferred.Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timeAbility to bend and stoop frequentlyAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work in inclement weatherAbility to work on uneven ground
