Position Title: Maintenance Planner
Department: Maintenance
Location: SOUDERTON, PA

Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Purpose & Scope: The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for assisting with developing a reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance. The Planner will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. The Planner position requires hands-on maintenance experience. All tasks will be performed while supporting the company's policies, goals and objectives.
Principle Responsibilities:Maintain equipment records in SAPUpdate equipment records as equipment is installed or uninstalledMaintain equipment attributes, such as ABC, type, and functional location to support repair analysisMaintain equipment catalog profiles to drive part failure data collection on notificationsSetup and maintain all predictive and preventative maintenance plans in SAP to maximize equipment reliabilityDetermine the most effective method/tool to conduct preventative and predictive maintenance checks based on how critical equipment isSetup PM plan in SAP for each piece of equipment, including frequency, mechanic tasks, parts needs, tools needed, and safety proceduresGenerate PM work orders in SAP, from the PM plans for the next 14-28 daysMonitor and report if PM work is being completed to maintain equipment reliability, and comply with regulations and auditsSchedule and release PM work orders to maintenance crewsSeek input from maintenance supervisors to continually improve and adjust PM plans based on equipment and part performance/failureMonitor and analyze SAP part failure data (along with supervisors and maintenance manager) to detect trends (good or bad)Plan and schedule corrective work to maximize crew utilization and effectivenessReview work requests (SAP Notifications), collaborate with requestors, and create Work OrdersPlan work, including estimated labor by craft (Mech, Elect, Refrig), and special equipment or permits neededIdentify and reserve parts (or create purchase requisitions) for parts and servicesPrepare job plans and work order packets for mechanicsMaintain a task list library for reuseInterface with operations to validate work priority and equipment availabilityCollaborate with Maintenance Supervisors on the next week's available hours (crew size) in order to build weekly scheduleReview Planned Backlog of work that is ready to executeSelect work from backlog and schedule the work to crews (minimizing scheduled overtime)Lead weekly maintenance scheduling meetingsPrepare weekly metricsPhysical Demands/Work Environment:
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsThe plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical partsNoise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.Will be regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditionsWill be regularly exposed to chemicals used in the plant and for maintenance processesQualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree or 1-year experience as a maintenance planner or coordinator preferred1-year experience in SAP preferredStrong working knowledge of industrial maintenance and electrical functionsAbility to build and use maintenance library for repairsAbility to read and interpret technical/engineering documents, drawings, and schematicsAbility to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communicationExpertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data, research parts and analyze repair history detailThorough working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Purchasing, and Microsoft Office products
