The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless currently seeks a

Grant Accountant

who works with the Grant Accounting Manager and grants as they relate to grant billings, grant tracking and recording, grant reporting, and grant analysis. This position assists with and performs general ledger maintenance, recording financial accounting activity, account reconciliation and billing. This position also works with account and general ledger reconciliations as assigned. This position is located at 2111 Champa Street, Denver, CO 80205 and reports to the Grants Manager.

Essential Job Functions

Provides pre- and post-award fiscal management and compliance of Federal, State, City, and foundation grants awarded to Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.Processes (Federal, State, City and Foundation) grant billings and reports as assigned in a timely manner in order to meet due dates.Communicates with program staff and contacts for grants to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulations, and grant requirements.Monitors spending and auditing to research and resolve any issues relating to grants and audits.Performs assignments, some of which are primarily routine and restricted in intricacy, using well established and well-defined procedures, methods and techniques, and receives instruction in the interpretation and application of appropriate fiscal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.Performs assignments some of which are not routine and require understanding and interpretation of accounting principles, regulations, and grant requirements to tailor procedures, methods and techniques.Assists with the preparation, calculation, determination of eligibility, and tracking of match requirements relating to grants.Coordinates with Awarding agencies, Grant Writer, and Program staff regarding budgets and budget amendments.Monitors subrecipient's expenditures and budget to ensure accuracy and compliance.Assists with final and quarterly reporting preparation, review and submittal as assigned.Posts grant revenue in Accounts Receivable module and monitors balances, following up on any outstanding payments.Performs monthly and annual general ledger duties in order to assist in providing timely and accurate financial statements.Assists with additional duties, reconciliations and audit requirements for year end and other ad hoc requests throughout the year.Works proactively to identify potential areas of concern and takes initiative to solve problems and offer solutions.Provides guidance and training to Coalition and grants/compliance department personnel in the implementation and management of their respective grants. This requires cross-functional knowledge of programs and departments.Maintains files and ensures proper retention in accordance with CCH guidelines.Document processes and procedures, including implementation of process improvements where possible.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications Summary

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field. May be substituted for equivalent work experience.Recent grant billing experience or other relevant budgeting, accounting, and data analysis experience.Compensation is dependent on total relevant years of experience.

$56,206 - $67,447 a year
