**Job Description**GENERAL PURPOSEDrive truck or tractor at vehicle parking, yard or docking areas to move, position or park trucks and trailers to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. Transport trucks and trailers for repairs, as necessary, according to policies and procedures and safety protocols. May also operate wash bay using all necessary equipment to clean tractors and trailers. Keep the yard neat and orderly.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform trailer movement according to prioritization to optimize plant or warehouse efficiencies and production needsHook, unhook and move trucks to and from the service department and around dock areaSpot or position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loadingConnect loaded semitrailers to tractors for the driversMaintain accurate trailer and inventory movement logFollow steps to ensure proper operation and perform periodic preventive maintenance including pre and post trip inspections of equipment in the areaPerform duties required to ensure that assigned area is sanitary and cleanWash exterior of trucks and trailers if appropriate for yard locationComplete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes, as neededAdhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity and accidents and injuriesAttend all driver workshops and training sessionsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
