QUALIFICATIONS:1. American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate (or equivalent)2. Waterfront Safety Citification3. CPR / First Aid Certification4. AED Certification
GENERAL DUTIES:5. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.6. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.7. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.8. Prepare and deliver the Lifeguard camp brief at the end of the summer.9. Assist with evening cabin supervision10. Any other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:Safety and Supervision1. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.2. Enforce camp policies and procedures3. Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.4. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times.5. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
Weekly Responsibilities1. Provide for the constant watch and supervision of campers and staff who may be utilizing the pool or lake.2. Know and be able to execute emergency procedures.3. Carry out pool and lake operational procedures according to Camp Arnold Policy.4. Daily: Clean and scrub bathrooms, deck, equipment, Boat House and pool area Vacuum pool as needed.5. Assist with special camp programs that may be planned by the Recreation Director or Waterfront Director.6. Be prepared to conduct daily classes of swimming and canoe instruction if qualified.7. Be mindful of and enforce all safety rules and techniques. Help in camper discipline.8. Assist in testing and classifying swimming abilities of staff and campers at the beginning of each session.9. Maintain swimming pool, including the keeping of maintenance records.10. Prior to each swim session, make sure all areas are clean and in order.11. Attend weekly in-service for all lifeguard certified staff members.12. Attend daily devotions as lead by the Waterfront Director.13. Lead campfire devotion if/when required by the Timberlake Program Director.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.2. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.3. Ability to operate telephone.4. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.6. Ability to access and produce information from a computer.7. Ability to understand written information.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
