Hours:
Schedule will be either Tuesday-Saturday (five 8-hour shifts) or Wednesday-Saturday (four 10-hour shifts).
This position is to work in the brand-new Acute Rehab Unit.
Under general direction and upon physician referral, the Physical Therapist will assess the functional needs of physically disabled patients, develop treatment goals, and plan and implement appropriate treatment plans using a variety of physical therapy procedures.
The Physical Therapist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the department. The individual must acquire and/or demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and provide care with consideration of developmental status.
Primary (Essential) Duties:Objectively and quantifiably assess a baseline level of physical function for each patient referred, based on the treatment diagnosis. Evaluations should include baseline assessment of pertinent medical and onset history, cognitive function, sensory-perceptual-motor function, functional mobility, and pain control. This baseline information should adequately form the basis of treatment outcome goals.Identify functional needs and establish appropriate treatment outcome goals based on the initial assessment of the patient. Goals will be established as expected outcomes of the patient's treatment plan, expressed in measurable terms, and will be realistic and appropriate to the patient's condition.Plan and implement treatment programs designed to achieve or significantly progress toward the achievement of outcome goals, based on the established treatment outcome goals. Treatment programs will be dynamic relative to the clinical response of the patient and will achieve a level of consistency and continuity that will enhance the patient's clinical response.Minimum Requirements:
Graduate from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy.Licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Idaho.Current BLS certification.A Master's Degree is preferred.
