Summary: This is a key entry level position within our manufacturing facility which produces quality food products for our customers. Responsible for receiving, unloading, and storing raw materials in their proper location.

*Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM.*Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities

:

Unload, load, inspect, and relocate raw materials upon receipt in Shipping and Receiving.Pulling raw materials and delivering them to production personnel as appropriate.Relocating finished goods to warehouse racks.Picking, staging, and inspecting outbound loads and loading trailers.Duties may also include performing raw material returns.Inspecting incoming trailers to ensure trailer integrity and temperature meets requirements.Cleaning and sanitizing the work area.Documenting all transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.Frequent work in the freezer for up to several hours at a time.Receive bulk ingredient, packaging, and raw material items.Assist in conducting cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods.Document relevant shipping and receiving information.Store and retrieve raw materials and finished good.Maintain cleanliness of work area.Perform other duties by assisting in Shipping and Receiving department.Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Team Leader, Manufacturing Manager or Safety Manager immediately.Evaluating hazards, verification of measures and procedures that should be taken to achieve a safe work environment.Ensuring daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) RegulationsAll other duties assigned.Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications and Experience:

High school diploma or GED.One year of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment preferred.Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others.Must be able to read work documents in English.Strong focus on safetyGood understanding of plant quality requirementsGood working knowledge of GMP'sGood attendance and work historyStrong team mentalitySupervisory Responsibilities

Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.Bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection and any other personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son will be provided.Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious, and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/ or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and on rare occasion's emergency situations.Expectations
