The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently in search of a
Senior Project Manager
for our Electrical Construction team in Spokane, WA. We are looking for someone who likes to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work on small and large size electrical construction projects. You will be joining an established and diverse team where you will be able to make an immediate impact. Project Management
As an Electrical Senior Project Manager, you will be tasked with identifying the appropriate resources to achieve project goals, generating preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, and presentations. Communication is key in this position as you will be the primary contact for project engineering staff during the construction phase and will need to communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong sense of ownership and have an aptitude for technology.
Project Controls
As a Senior Project Manager, you will assume financial responsibility for projects including accurate, timely, and relevant reporting to stakeholders. This also includes facilitating invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors, reviewing and approving subcontractor billing, and preparing client and subcontractor change orders. You will also be responsible for assessing any potential job cost impacts and negotiating and tracking all change orders requests.
Team Management
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be working closely with a dynamic team, with opportunities for coaching and mentoring project team members. You will be tasked with developing project staffing plans, establishing and leading associated meetings while defining individual project responsibilities.
Sales and Business Development
As a Senior Project Manager, you will regularly, proactively engage with existing or potential clients to develop new relationships and project opportunities.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred
Five to ten (5-10) years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction
Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/or Suretrak preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and required
Proficient with construction estimating programs and software preferred

The pay range for this position is $93,600- $147,060 annually; however, base pay offered my vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
