Senior Electrical Engineer
in our
Philadelphia, PA
office. As a
Senior Electrical Engineer
you will be responsible for lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. The
Senior Electrical Engineer
will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project's monetary budget, assisting in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectationsSome key duties and responsibilities include:Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standardsPerform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reportsInteract with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationProvide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirementsTrain, mentor, and motivate staffProvide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staffStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGPrioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsParticipate in project interviews and project presentationsKey skills and abilities needed for the position are:Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systemsKnowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam RevuAbility to mentor, train, motivate, and lead othersAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsStrong training and mentoring skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysEducation and experience requirements are:Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industryThis position is not eligible for sponsorshipSo, what are you waiting for?
