LOCATION SUMMARY:Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.POSITION SUMMARY:The incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:1. Current licensure as a Occupational Therapist by the State of California2. Current AHA – BLS3. Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited Occupational Therapy degree program4. Experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is necessary5. Experience with a disabled population in a hospital setting is desirable6. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment7. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing8. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essentialSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Should speak and write English fluently. Must be familiar with Joint Commission requirements and standards. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.PHYSICAL JOB CLASSIFICATION:Heavy work- see attached detailed physical requirementsENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:May be exposed to: Dust, Fumes (Human Waste), Human Body Fluids, Heat, Cold, Noise, Vibrations, Toxic Chemicals (Cleaning solutions). Majority of the work is performed indoors protected from the elements.Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
