Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member in our AWS Marketing Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our fastest growing business division within Amazon. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with finance leaders to develop financial models and analytical insights to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements, and identifying paths to improve overall planning and forecasting process. Primary responsibilities include:
Create, improve, and maintain financial metrics, reports and scorecards used for consolidation reports. Measure marketing programs on P&L in a short and long term
Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data to create meaningful analyses and models that drive business decisions, which include building financial models sports advertising deal.
Develop relationships with business teams, implement new processes and drive continuous improvement
Annual Plans, Forecasts, Month End Close and Variance Analysis

A day in the life
Creating and maintaining strong relationships with business owners will be an important part of this role, which will require to work closely with finance leaders on a daily basis to understand and develop financial models and analytical insights. Strong ownership of the P&L and ability to help business owners understand month end close results and associated risks and opportunities is important. A bias for action is very important to help the business execute on their plans.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
Six Sigma Black Belt
3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
