The Executive Director, Solution Engineering in Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness you will report to the AVP of PCW T&D Solution Engineering. The Executive Director will be a highly technical leader who is responsible for technical solutions, design and estimation of initiatives across PCW Technology and Digital. The role provides managerial oversight to technology product architects and engineers as it relates to building new optimized solutions to meet business demand as well as the technical leadership to high-complexity/high-impact engineering and delivery initiatives.

As a Executive Director in Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness Technology, you'll combine your years of proven expertise with a never-ending quest to create innovative technology through solid engineering practices for the mission critical technology platforms like RxConnect. In addition to creating solutions for the Pharmacy and Consumer wellness workstreams, you’ll also work alongside our team of technologists to develop and execute our application modernization roadmap as Pharmacy goes through a transformation of its own. The Executive Director will also join forces with peer groups in the Business, IT, and Digital organizations, to evolve the PCW Technology strategy and to ensure innovative solutions are delivered and value streams are fully realized. Job responsibilities

Responsible for carrying out technology objectives for multiple technical areas or disciplines. Sets the overall direction and short-term operational goals, fiscal control, and compliance, and ensuring quality and ethics. Anticipates and resolves escalated issues and empowers teams.

Role typically requires strong knowledge of software, applications, technical systems, technical processes, and product/project management within a technical discipline with advanced knowledge of additional disciplines and cross functional business knowledge.

Developing the engineering solutions for many PCW T&D projects and initiatives while building architectural and design application standards and frameworks to facilitate delivery.

Proficient understanding of organization’s technology landscape, platforms and systems, operating model, technical methodologies, and technical delivery standards to effectively navigate and influence the organization.

Leverages technical expertise and business knowledge to drive adoption and implementation of technical methods within teams in line with product development methodologies.

Helps resolve challenges that have direct impact on multiple technologies and areas of the business. Issue resolution requires translating complex business / technical needs into objectives, specifications, and plans.

This leader will own team building, people management, general guidance, and career mentorship aspects of a team of Engineering Managers, Development Engineers, Technical Leads and Architects, directing work assignments, influencing work estimates and timelines, communicating with customers, participating in strategic planning, and demonstrating agile expertise across functional, technical, and operational processes.

Planning and allocation of resources within defined budgets to ensure budgets and schedules meet our business requirements

Partner with technical leaders within CVS Health to contribute to product strategy, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with multiple priorities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

15+ years of experience in software development and delivery.

10+ Years of experience in Python, Java or similar programming languages

5+ AWS, Azure or GCP

Experience leading a multiple teams of 75+ resources

5+ years of experience with developing and implementing target architectures that apply best practices for working with transactional and analytical workloads

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Mastery of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices

Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goal.

Passionate about building an innovative culture.

Experience in modern programming languages and cloud-based technologies.

Experience in Agile development practices

Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams, frequently oversees employee populations across multiple products supporting different business functions. May act as primary interface with internal and external executives and senior leaders, achieving consensus among stakeholders with competing objectives.

Fosters a culture of continuous an open feedback within teams and business unit.

Experience working with distributed teams, working across multiple time zones and geographies.

Ability to influence and inspire teams to align technical direction.

Ability to create and execute innovation roadmaps.

Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and achieve broader organizational goals.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

Masters’ Degree Preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 - $334,750.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
