Job DescriptionViridian Staffing's (www.viridianstaffing.com) Client is looking for an experienced and passionate servant leader to be the General Manager of Cultivation for an outdoor and greenhouse cannabis grow operation located about 1 hour north of the Saginaw, Michigan, area.
Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing is the Original staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.
As Head of Cultivation for this site, you will be responsible for collaborating closely with cultivation leadership of the organization on all activities in the outdoor grow operation. You will direct and oversee the employee activities for all operations from propagation, planting and cultivating, to irrigation, harvesting, processing and record keeping. You should have a "roll up your sleeves" attitude and be very passionate about cannabis in order to be successful in this operation. You will be expected to update when necessary and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in an effort to advance the Company's mission. Using your knowledge of the State of Michigan's cannabis regulations and OSHA rules, you will ensure adherence to compliance and safety regulations by all employees. Using your proven experience meeting or exceeding yield and quality expectations, you will plan and direct operations for optimum success and maximum crop production. As a successful, data-driven, people manager, you enjoy hiring, training, and coaching employees in all aspects of the grow operation.
The ideal Head Grower will have 3+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience, with at least 1+ years of that experience being as a people manager and a portion of this time managing a grow operation larger than 50K square feet of canopy. You have managed outdoor, greenhouse, and hoop house cultivation facilities, veg rooms, and have solid IPM experience. You should have experience growing with rockwool and soil. You have phenomenal communication skills and enjoy being part of a team, versus only spending time with the plants. You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in horticulture or agronomy or similar degree. You are an expert when it comes to climate control and understand crop planning and scheduling. Most of all, you are known for your ability to motivate and inspire a large team of workers. Compensation: $120K + Bonus
