The NA AMZL Supply Chain organization leads the innovation of Amazon’s Last Mile. We are an Operations org that hires and manages associates to deliver packages next day and sub-same day. Our key vision is to transform the online experience by enabling ultra-fast delivery at lower cost possible. We’re growing in scale and volume, by orders of magnitude. The Execution and Planning Science (EPS) team sits within NA AMZL Supply Chain with the mission to build world-class automated Science-Tech products that enable ultra-fast delivery speeds for Amazon customers and job market opportunities for Amazon associates. We are team of Scientists, Engineers and Tech leaders who invent and implement scalable algorithms for automated decision making in the Operations space.

You will develop Science-Tech solutions to craft business strategy and roadmap to enable some of Amazon’s biggest brands to delight millions of customers. To succeed, we need senior technical leaders to forge a path into the future by building innovative, maintainable, and scalable systems.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive delivery of science and software solutions. You will work with scientists and engineers inside and outside of our team, and partner with Product Managers and other stakeholders across multiple organizations. You will be a single-threaded owner for some of our highest-impact, most complex, cross-org projects as well as driving programmatic best practice inside the team.

Key job responsibilities

Partner with Product Managers, customers and other stakeholders to help refine requirements and build a implementations plan.

Create an drive project plans, holding others to delivery dates, actively managing risks, issues and dependencies.

Become an expert in the operational processes we support as well as the software and science that power our products.

Take part in solution design and architecture decisions to ensure we make the right trade-offs.

Own a pro-active communication plan to keep leadership and stakeholders informed and consulted as appropriate.

Drive programmatic best practice inside the EPS team to improve working efficiency.

Relentless drive and high ownership to navigate complexities to push your projects to completion.

Basic Qualifications

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

5+ years of technical product or program management experience

7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

3+ years of software development experience

5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
