We have a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse that is interested in Infection Prevention.

As an Infection Control Registered Nurse you will execute the hospital's Infection Control program by conducting rounds, chart review, providing consultation, developing policies, etc. and responding to Infection Control issues throughout the hospital system.
Hours
:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours, Day shift
7:30a-4:00pm
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify elements related to and implements the Infection Control Program specific to Lowell General Hospital population served at all campuses.
Perform surveillance activities in accordance with the program approved by the Infection Control Committee. Prepare reports for internal use and regulatory reporting.
Identify patterns or trends based on the data collection and analysis and makes recommendations for improvement to Infection Control Committee. Facilitates performance improvement teams and initiatives as necessary.
Develop response and action plan to any outbreaks identified.
Develop new policies and procedures for changes in requirements of any regulatory body and new program or service. Review and revise policies as appropriate.
Provide information to PI Council, Nurse Quality Council, and other forums as necessary for ongoing improvement.
Works collaboratively with Occupational Health Nurses to assure compliance with Infection Control policies for employees.
Participate in Emergency Management Planning particularly for pandemic planning.
Act as a resource to all staff on infection control practices and policies. Participate actively in hospital committees as assigned such as Safety Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Value Analysis Committee to enhance infection control practices.
Work closely with Facilities and contractors to plan and implement interim life safety management plans associated with construction or renovation.
Minimum Qualifications
:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Public Health, Nursing, or Behavioral Science.
Appropriate professional license or certification based on educational background.
Certified in Infection Control (CIC)
OR
Obtain within one (1) year of hire.
Three (3) years of clinical experience, including performing surveillance for health care associated infections.
