Your technology will support thousands of operators worldwide to design, build and run the best-in-class Amazon transportation network. Depending on your experience, Technical Program Manager III can typically expect to directly engage with de-velopers and customers to address challenging problems, build software with the latest technologies and make data-driven decisions to improve the customer experience. Your responsibilities extend to scaling sys-tems by managing internal and external stakeholders across various domains, from business and operations to engineering, science, and deployment. As a Senior TPM, you will navigate bottlenecks, provide escalation man-agement, make strategic tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints. The role also in-volves scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end, collecting requirements, writing specifications, and coordinating design/implementation efforts. Ideally, you possess a strong program management background, demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and a well-rounded technical proficiency in current web technologies.

Key job responsibilities
- manage the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program with considerable impact
- accountable for the overall strategy as well as driving teams inside and outside your organization to deliver
- understand the systems in your product or program space, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural decisions
- ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned, you drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions
- make smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. features)
- partner with customers and engineering teams to determine which projects move forward and in what priority order
- use your knowledge to assess development processes, test plans, and operations/maintenance requirements
- streamline and/or eliminate excess process
- influence teams to decouple from dependencies and eliminate architecture problems that stifle innovation or cause user dissatisfaction, development collisions, and/or outages
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
