We are currently recruiting for a Radiation Therapist.Job Description Under direction of the radiation oncologist and lead therapist, the radiation therapist will be responsible for ensuring the most optimal radiation therapy treatments are provided to patientsThis will be a team approach in professional operations with treatment delivery, simulation, and brachytherapy, or any other care related to the radiation therapy treatmentsFulfills patient care responsibilities, as assigned, which may include but not limited to: Checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to treatment area; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, and preparing for treatmentQualificationsMust-HavesHigh School Diploma or GEDCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS)Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation TherapistMust have knowledge of department functions, how and why radiation therapy is used, and be able to explain this to nurses, physicians, Medical Center staff, and the publicContinuing education as prescribed by JCAHO, and A.R.R.T.Nice-To-HavesExperience in a Radiation Oncology Department is desirable but not requiredAdditional Information
