The Regional Vice President Business Development for Financial Institution Sales leads, manages and directs the Sales team with the ultimate goal of achieving company-wide strategic goals and business objectives. The Regional Vice President Business Development for Financial Institution Sales acts as an advisor, coach and mentor to the team and carries out their duties and responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with EquiTrust's Company Values of Integrity, Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork and Passion. As a senior leader within the organization, the Vice President works collaboratively across all departments to put plans, initiatives, processes and systems in place to accomplish organizational objectives.

The Regional Vice President Business Development for Financial Institution Sales at EquiTrust will leverage extensive industry experience and deep relationships within the banking and broker-dealer communities to proactively recruit and build the wholesale distribution of annuity products, including Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILA). This individual will play a key role in identifying and evaluating new relationships within the bank and broker-dealer channel. The role will also be instrumental in mentoring other team members, building strong relationships with financial professionals and providing exceptional support through the recruiting and on-boarding process. This role will be critical in expanding our footprint within the banking sector, aligning our annuity and RILA offerings with the needs of our partners, and delivering exceptional service and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads a team of sales and marketing professionals, including but not limited to the following activities: makes recommendations and decisions for hiring, termination, promotion and transfers, assessing and completing performance appraisals, responsibility/workload allocations and task completion, employee engagement, succession planning and talent development, problem identification and resolution and other day-to-day people management and leadership responsibilities.Partners with departments to ensure strategic, operational and customer service objectives are aligned with Sales and Marketing goals.Identifies and leads high level problem resolution in a manner that is consistent with company values.Business Development: Utilize extensive networks within financial institution community to identify and establish new relationships. Lead efforts to expand the distribution of annuity products, including RILA, across these channels.Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance existing partnerships with key banking and broker-dealer clients. Serve as the primary point of contact, providing expert guidance and support to maximize sales opportunities.Product Sales: Actively promote and sell Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILA) alongside traditional annuity products to financial institution partners, ensuring they understand the benefits and features of each product.Contracting: Negotiate and manage contracts with financial institution intermediaries, ensuring that terms are favorable and align with the company's strategic objectives. Collaborate with Vice President of Sales and Marketing as well as legal and compliance teams to finalize agreements.Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with company goals. Work closely with internal teams to ensure our annuity and RILA products are competitively positioned and meet market demands.Training and Education: Deliver high-impact presentations and training sessions to banking and broker-dealer partners. Ensure they are well-equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively sell our annuity and RILA productsMarket Analysis: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes. Use this knowledge to influence product development and adjust sales strategies as needed.Collaboration: Partner with internal departments, including marketing, product development, and compliance, to ensure products meet regulatory standards and are effectively marketed to financial institution partners.Reporting: Regularly report on sales performance, relationship status, and market conditions to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Supports the Sales and Marketing team and/or other departments on an as needed basis.Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.Skills and Abilities:

Extensive relationships within the banking and broker-dealer industries.In-depth knowledge of annuity products, including Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILA), and their distribution.Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts with financial institution intermediaries.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Proven ability to develop and sustain long-term business relationships.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Self-driven with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.Training or Work Experience:

10 or more years of experience in education, training, business development and relationship management in the financial institution industry, with a strong focus on life insurance, annuities required.Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFP, ChFC) are preferred.License(s) or Certifications:

Series 6 and 63 required.Series 7 preferred.Working Conditions:

On-Site Location: West Des Moines, Iowa or Chicago, Illinois.Frequent travel (more than 50% of the time).
