About the Opportunity
The Vice President of Development will play a pivotal role in driving the Foundation towards unprecedented fundraising success, spearheading the most ambitious campaign in the organization's history. This dynamic fundraising leader will be deeply engaged in all aspects of the process, providing hands-on guidance and support to the fundraising team, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, and strategically leading the organization in achieving its highest fundraising milestones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS
The Key Accountabilities for the position include but are not limited to:
Fundraising Strategy and Execution
Develop and execute fundraising strategies aligned with the university's vision, overseeing the creation of tailored proposals, and utilizing data analytics to optimize efforts by achieving or exceeding fundraising goals, increasing major gifts, and efficiently executing campaigns.
Development Team Leadership
Provide strategic guidance to the development team, setting ambitious fundraising goals, and defining metrics for success. Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability, and offering professional development opportunities.
Donor Relations and Stewardship
Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, alumni, corporations, and foundations to secure significant gifts and deepen engagement, increasing donor retention & satisfaction, enhancing alumni involvement, and successfully implementing initiatives leading to renewed and increased giving.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement
Collaborate with university leadership, including the President, Provost, Deans, and other key stakeholders to identify fundraising priorities and opportunities for philanthropic investment and provide meaningful and valuable engagement opportunities with the Foundation.
Operational Excellence
Effectively collaborate with & support colleagues within the organization and maintain accurate donor records, gift documentation, and fundraising reports to positively contribute to executive initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITIONBachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field required.5 to 7 years of experience in fundraising, business development, marketing, or communications; leadership experience preferred.Ability to engage diverse groups and foster excitement and commitment to the university.Experience serving as a spokesperson and senior liaison with constituencies.Proven leadership and proactive, inclusive management fostering a results-oriented, transparent, and accountable team.Skilled in motivating, mentoring, and enhancing team performance and dedication.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.Strong strategic planning and execution abilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Valid driver's license and safe driving record.WHY JOIN THIS ORGANIZATION?
