The Driver-Warehouse Assistant holds an important role for University Mechanical and Engineering Contractors San Diego. The position will be responsible for ensuring that materials and tools are delivered to the job site safely and in a quality manner. Items will be delivered, picked up after completion and returned to the warehouse. This individual must have the ability to support field supervisors and maintain positive communication with Field Foremen and Warehouse Manager.

Compensation Range: $22 - 26/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties to include are as follows:

Must be able to drive a 1-Ton 12 ft. flat-bed truck and a F-650 24 ft. flat-bed truck.Must have Forklift experienceSmall Tool and Equipment RepairMust be able to lift 50 pounds and climb up and down equipmentMaintains class C Drivers license and clean Department of Motor Vehicle RecordResponsible for properly securing loadsInspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.Drives truck to assigned destinationAssist workers in unloading and loading truck when requiredSorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequenceFills work orders, or request for materials, tools or other stock itemsMaintains inventory recordsReceive deliveriesMaintains cleanliness of vehicle and warehouse housekeepingMust be able to work a 40-hour work week, with occasional overtimeFollows all traffic laws, is courteous to other drivers, and understands the importance of representing the company and providing a positive image of the company.Regular attendance is required.Performs other duties as requested.

Must have:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will range from working in a warehouse to a variety of construction worksites requiring walking on rugged or uneven terrain, climbing, kneeling, bending. Worksites could be located underground in tunnels or in high-rise construction. Abl to push and pull 50 pounds, bend, twist, and sit for long periods of time.

The employee will be required to commute to field locations and project sites and will need to be able to navigate around the job site locations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
