Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of ageExperience: Solid work history with prior experienceEducation: High School Diploma or GEDMaintains good hygiene with neat and clean appearanceGood attendanceWork collaboratively in diverse environment with people of all ages including students with high level of integrityAbility to accept work directionAbility to work alone or as a team with minimal supervision.Ability to communicate and follow written and oral communication.Ability to perform light maintenanceDemonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively and willingness to accept instructions and training.Satisfactory past performance record, indicating the knowledge of district maintenance methods and procedures, which indicates the capability of instructing subordinates in the proper use of district methods and proceduresBasic working knowledge of personal computers and office machineryWillingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performance.Responsibilities:
Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash and pencil sharpeners, cleans chalkboards and sets up for activities.Washes walls, woodwork and windows, and cleans and polishes metal surfaces. Cleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors.Wet mops and spot clean hard and soft surface floors.Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms, locker rooms, and drinking fountains.Scrub and wax floors manually or by machineHaul trashVacuum all carpeted areas.Performs minor repair maintenance.Take necessary action to prevent the occurrence of emergencies by repairing, or reporting broken windows, doors and locks, and by reporting unsafe conditionsAssists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways snow and ice removal.Assists with set ups and tears down for school activities such as sporting events, concerts and other meetings or special events.Operates security systems and secures building at the conclusion of shift along with ensure building is secure by locking windows and doors.Treat all users of buildings in a polite and courteous mannerMove furniture and other heavy moving and liftingEstimate needs and requisitions for supplies and equipmentPerforms other duties as assigned.Must maintain safe maintenance practices and adhere to safety requirements.Physical Requirements:
Good physical health including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walking.Repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers.Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping.Occasional climbing and crawling.Standing for long periods of time as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
