The Material Handler is responsible for executing a range of responsibilities - management of material movement, warehouse replenishment, and order picking. Overall, this role will work directly with the inventory team to supply materials to the production environment as directed. Ideally the candidate will be comfortable with a fast-paced Hendrick environment, working all day on their feet, and well organized.
Primary Responsibilities:
Load and unload pallets for shelf storage of productsManual shelf replenishment from backstockAssist with picking of required production materialsLoad/Unload trucks as neededEngage a forklift or pallet jack to move products as neededAssist with packaging of material for shipmentReceipt and distribution of inventoryPick list pulling and distribution of inventory to the production floorCycle counting of inventory as neededAct as a back-up for other positions as needed during absencesAdditional responsibilities added as neededOther
Understanding of batch and serialized products a plusUnderstanding of BOMs a plusAbility to work without constant supervisionPotential use of scanners in a warehouse environmentProfessional skills:
Ability to self-directBasic computer skillsFlexible and creative thinkingAbility to stand, crouch, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds for 8+ hours a dayForklift certified or ability to become certifiedAbility to work a pallet jackSkills and Qualifications:
High school DiplomaAutomotive related background, a plus2+ years experience in a warehouse environment1+ years experience in traditional manufacturing preferredWorking knowledge of ERP systems requiredDemonstrated ability in identifying and implementing structure in otherwise flexible/fluid operationsHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to persist and succeed with cross-functional communication within scope of responsibilityStrong written and oral communication skills.Must have independent problem-solving skills and the discipline to follow-up and follow-through until problems are resolved
