PAs are assigned to the pool of 2-3 surgeonsOrders or performs diagnostic studies ( EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations including special xray examinations CT, MRI, and bone scans etc)Performs Procedures: digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures such as but not limited to: tendon repair, wound closure, wound management, wound debridement, incision and drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning of fractures, k-wire removal and hardware removalSurgical AssistPrimary Orthopedic Call in Emergency DepartmentEvaluates and clarifies clinical conditions, formulates and implements a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, dictates discharge summaries, histories and physicalsParticipates in daily rounds on assigned patients and documents the pertinent symptoms, findings, diagnoses and care plansRequirements
Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA)Active OR License or willing to obtainHas ties to Oregon or has lived in OR at some pointMinimum of 2 years work experience as inpatient Orthopedic PA (not including training) - PreferredAccepting new graduates and experienced providers (experience preferred)EMR
