Dispatchers should have good judgment skills and the ability to make decisions quickly. They need to have excellent communication skills when giving and receiving information. During their shifts, dispatchers receive many calls, often at the same time, that they must prioritize by importance. Dispatchers need the technological skills to use computers, and different types of software, and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and drivers. A dispatcher's daily duties are always changing. They should be flexible and able to adapt to any situation.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Monitoring drivers' schedules, routes, and deliveries, keeping track of movement and the progress of each driver and vehicle.
-Providing daily communication and interaction with drivers and customer service team
-Verify the routes are load leveled according to the capacity of the DSP/TPC drivers.
-Morning dispatch includes returns, bad addresses, and mis ships.
-Cover any of our library and distribution routes and ensure they are done with efficiency and a
high level of customer service
-Assist in Vehicle upkeep, Maintenance logs, and ensuring working telematic system.
-Cleaning of warehouse and preparing for the following day.
-Ensure the ADR are scanned and cleaned up, and hold boards are properly updated.
Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, stand for long periods of time. Must maintain a valid Dr License. Must have weekend availability.
Knowledge and Experience
Dispatchers should have 5 years' experience of working with people under stressful conditions. Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties. They should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with others while multitasking several schedules and priorities at once. This is a full-time position.
