The Children's Hospital of Richmond at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology is committed to being a model academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical, translational, and basic research.
Chief Purpose of this position:
The Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (CHOR at VCU) is recruiting for a non-tenure eligible physician to participate in clinical, teaching and research activities. The division currently has three clinical faculty, two advanced practice providers, a nurse coordinator, and a nurse navigator. Providers see patients at the downtown Children's Pavilion and travel to outlaying community clinics. Additionally, the division has an active ACGME approved fellowship program in coordination with the Department of Internal Medicine.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities. Faculty member will provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, Residents, Chief Residents, and Fellows when applicable.Research:
Faculty member will have working knowledge in research methods and be able to participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research.Service:
Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.Clinical:
Faculty member will serve as a Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Physician for the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. The division provides clinical care to both inpatient and outpatient arenas.Required Qualifications:
Board certified in Pediatrics/Internal Medicine. Board certified or board eligible in Allergy and ImmunologyExperience with clinical care of patientsExperience in an academic medical centerDemonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCUPreferred Qualifications:
