Manager, Commercial Contracts

to lead our commercial contracts team, manage high-volume activities, and negotiate complex agreements to optimize deal times, mitigate risks, and enhance team effectiveness.

This role is fully remote .Leveraging your negotiation and people management experience, you will develop processes and strategies to streamline operations. As a key liaison across Licensing, Sales, Finance, Procurement, and other Business Units, you will provide guidance, foster collaboration, and ensure legal agreements align with organizational policies. You will also mentor and develop the commercial contracts team to meet current and future goals. By analyzing situations and data, you will identify and resolve issues before negotiating and executing agreements.Negotiation experience in licensing or commercial contracts with a background in biological sciences is highly preferred for this role. Preferred experience includes license negotiations, commercial contracts, technology transfer, procurement, or alliance management. Team Leadership and Development:

Train, mentor, and supervise direct reports to enhance performance and effectiveness. Provide cross-functional training and oversee due diligence as needed.

Contract Management and Negotiation:

Ensure timely negotiation and execution of various agreements, prioritizing and assigning tasks to the team. Develop and maintain negotiation playbooks and templates to ensure policy adherence and risk mitigation.Operational Efficiency and Reporting:

Manage a diverse portfolio of agreements, continuously evaluating and improving practices and policies. Prepare and present data analysis reports on contract activities and team performance for senior management review. Lead cross-functional teams to meet strategic initiatives and support the licensing team during peak periods.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with experience negotiating commercial contracts/agreements, advanced degree preferred.7+ years of experience negotiating and managing contracts or licenses (5+ years acceptable with advanced degree).2+ years of supervisory/people management experience, including performance evaluations.Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, proactive with drive to achieve goals.Background in license negotiations, commercial contract negotiations, technology transfer offices, procurement negotiations, or alliance management preferred.Experience in managing people, leading cross-functional teams, and handling internal change management processes.Strong business acumen and judgment, with the ability to review data and find solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective at all organizational levels.Familiarity with business practices (finance, marketing, planning, IT) and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio; ability to learn new platforms like Monday.com.Entrepreneurial spirit and scientific background, especially in biological sciences, highly preferred for this role.Advanced biological sciences background highly preferred.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.We Invest in You
