Learn Through The Arts .Start Date: This is a pool position. The start date is dependent on when a vacancy opens up. However, we still encourage you to apply as we will interview you and keep your candidacy on hold until an opening becomes available.Type: Full-time position.
Work hours are generally 7:00 am - 3:30 pm for morning shift.Night shift: The times available are 12pm to 9pm OR 2:30pm - 11pm.Flexibility in the work schedule outside of normal reporting hours is expected due to the nature of working in a start-up environment. Candidates should have the flexibility to work in the evenings and on the weekend, as needed. The schedule will be adjusted to accommodate after-hours assignments, as needed.Major Responsibilities and DutiesFollow routine cleaning and custodial procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in building operations.Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning floors, whiteboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, restrooms, cafeteria, and common areas.Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean.Maintains the Cafeteria; Performs breakfast and lunch dining area cleaning and setup.Performs routine custodial, light-duty repairs and maintenance tasks.Performs setup for campus events.Oversees contractors who perform non-routine maintenance tasks and summer refresh tasks.Performs pressure washing and other cleanings of the building's exterior.Re-paint walls inside classrooms and walls inside the building.Moves furniture in preparation for stripping and waxing operations.Assists with stripping and waxing operations.Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.Maintains organization and cleanliness of storage, supply, and maintenance areas.Maintains a record of inventory and orders supplies as needed and requests re-supply.SafetyAssist with opening and closing the building each school day.Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.Remains vigilant on safety and security issues and notifies school administration of any safety or security issues that arise.Operate equipment according to established safety procedures.Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.Notifies school administration of any needed major repairs or equipment failure.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions.Report emergencies to the Director of Operations.Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (preferred)Previous cleaning experience (required)Experience in building maintenance (preferred)Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety proceduresAbility to operate cleaning equipment and properly handle cleaning suppliesAbility to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in EnglishAbility to use basic office, security, and technology equipmentAbility to use standard custodial equipment computerized displays and controlsEquipment Used:Burnisher, floor scrubber, auto-scrubber, wet-vac., vacuum, carpet dryer, carpet extractor, and trash compactorWorking Conditions:Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, and moderate lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.Potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dust, wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, disease, pathogenic substances, and toxic/poisonous agents.Frequent heavy lifting and carrying; noise level is moderate and may have frequent interruptions.Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and ladders.Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials.BenefitsStarting Pay:$15 per hour
