The Role:

Family or Internal Medicine Physician (Primary Care)

What You'll Do:

Provide world-class care to San Antonio First Responders in a state-of-the-art health and wellness center located in Schertz, Texas. Our physicians work in a Collaborative Care model that offers a "whole person" care approach, with access to additional on-site services such as Physical Therapy, Ultrasound, Nutrition Coaching/Counseling, Mental Health Care, access to Specialists and more!

With appointment times of 30 min and 1 hour, and typically seeing only 10-14 patients a day, our physicians have the time to genuinely care for patients, which means improved compliance, better care coordination, healthier patients, and happier providers. It also means more time for charting and the limited administrative duties throughout the day, with nothing to take home at night. Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, NO late clinics/nights, NO weekends, No call, and NO burnout.

Essential Job Functions :

Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients in order to meet their needsEducates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patientsDetermines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needsDetermines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointmentsExercises final medical judgment in all issues of health carePrescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patientsOrders studies, test, and ancillary servicesDocuments all services in patient medical record in eCWReviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attentionConsults with Physician Lead, Director of Medicine, and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issuesParticipates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Health by DesignAssists as needed in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patientsAssists in the development, production, and presentation of medical education, material, lectures, and mixed media presentations for patient and medical staffMaintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulationsMay be assigned to multiple clinic sites as mutually agreed upon with CMO and Director of MedicineMay require on-call responsibilitiesEducation : Graduate of accredited US School of Medicine; MD or DO

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :

Current unrestricted license to practice in state of clinic location (Texas)Board Certification (Family or Internal Medicine)DEABLS - Basic Life Support CertificationRequired Skills :
